1. A mixture of Fe and Ni powders were successfully printed by laser sintering. 2. The microstructural/compositional homogeneity was relatively good overall and the measured composition was on target with powder mixture. 3. The microstructural/compositional homogeneity can be improved by heat treating or optimizing the print parameters. 4. Mechanical properties of this mixture were comparable with Invar 36 specs. 5. Thermomechanical properties of the printed parts had more scatter than Invar 36 but were generally within alloy specifications.
