Features of Lifetime Extension for High-Power Steam Turbines Operated at Nuclear Power Plant

At many Russian and foreign nuclear power plants turbines of K-220, K-500, K-1000 type in various designs made at Kharkovsky Turbine Zavod are operated. Major part of them has run out the specified lifetime (30 years) proving themselves to be convenient in operation and reliable turbine- generator sets. The Power Equipment Strength and Lifetime Department of NPO CKTI JSC has begun to study a problem of lifetime extension for steam turbine of Nuclear Power Plant since 2000, when turbine plant run out the specified lifetime [1,2]. Today stage-by-stage further operation life is extended for these turbines up to 45, and even up to 60 years [1-4, 6, 7].
