A novel concept of the integrated cooling and Electricity generation system (ICEGS) based on AMTECs for scramjets is proposed.A quasi-one-dimensional model of a scramjet combustor coupled with a preheating channels filled with sodium liquid and an evaporator as the hot region of AMTEC has been developed to describe the cooling process for the combustor.The model consists of a hydrogen-fueled combustor, several preheating channels, an ideal evaporator, an electricity generation module and a condenser using hydrogen as the coolant.The cooling performance comparison between the regenerative cooling system and the integrated cooling and electricity generation system under different equivalence ratio of fuel has been completed.The results indicate that the sodium has a better thermal protection performance than fuels, and the needs of fuel's heat sink can be decreased because of a higher absorb temperature.
