In Chapter 32, we are offered a thoughtful historical and conceptual analysis of the most influential etiological theory of schizophrenia, that is, the dopamine hypothesis of schizophrenia (DHS). Kenneth Kendler is a perfectly suitable candidate for venturing on such a critical enterprise, given his long track record of research in psychopathology, epidemiology, and genetics, combined with an interest in and study of conceptual and philosophical dimensions of science.
