SMART LASER WELDING AND MONITORING - (PPT)

The LPCS's two coaxial near infrared optical sensors measure heat radiation and laser back reflection from the molten pool - key hole area at high frequency. Both sensors are very sensitive to the efficiency of laser absorption by the welded joint. The LPCS system detects weld defects attributed to joint variations in butt welds of steel sheets, such as small gap enlargement, mismatch and edge notches.
