The comparative study on the application effect in mining and environmental investigations between CBERS-02C and SPOT-5

CBERS-02C is China domestic high resolution remote sensing satellite, its spatial resolution of up to 2.36 metres, and it could satisfy the urgent demand for high resolution satellite remote sensing data users. In this paper, using the high resolution satellite CBERS-02C satellite remote sensing data and the French SPOT-5 satellite data, we carried out the research on the application of in Mining and Environmental Investigations in Chengde and Xunwu mining areas. Two kinds of data application effect was scientifically analyzed and comprehensively compared from data characteristics, the data processing flow, mine object information identification, economic, etc. and it could play an exemplary role for the data source selection in the subsequent mining remote sensing survey.
