摘要

The open cut mine targeted in this research is located in the small island. In the one of the main open pit in this mine, the pit wall will be reached to the current pit limit in the near future because the pit wall close to the sea coast. This mine has a plan to expand the pit toward the sea coast by installation of the dam. Moreover, after the open pit operation will be finished, the possibility of development of underground mines from final highwall is investigated. However, there are several geotechnical and hydro geological issues have to be solved such as the prevention of intrusion of sea water to the pit, maintain the stability highwall in underground mining operation, etc.This paper proposes the application of CCC for construction of sea water proof wall and then discusses the availability and the suitable design of underground mines developed from open pit highwall.
