Insulation design of online dry ice cleaning equipment used for 220 kV substation insulator

The online dry ice cleaning equipment which can be used in 220 kV voltage level has been developed and applied into online cleaning of substation insulator effectively without pollution flashover. The insulation structure of the equipment has been designed and the insulation performance has been studied and calculated. The following works which include the selection of the component's materials, the analysis insulation safety distance, the analysis of phase-to-phase safety distance, and the calculation of leakage current have been carried out. The power frequency withstand voltage test and leakage current test have also been done on the equipment in order to verify its insulation performance. The results show that the insulation performance of the equipment is good enough to meet the requirements of online cleaning the substation insulators under 220 kV and lower voltage level.
