Flight Tests of ASELPOD-New Generation Targeting Pod

Various flight tests are performed in part of store certification efforts for ASELPOD, new generation targeting pod. Final goal was to prove aircraft-store compatibility. Tests are conducted in accordance with the instructions given in MIL-HDBKs-1763 and -244A. A mechanically representative pod which has same outer geometry and similar mass properties within the tolerances was developed for the carriage tests. Equipment under test (EUT) is subjected to the maximum inertial and maximum aerodynamic loads throughout its intended flight envelope. This paper focuses on Inflight Loads and Environmental Tests.
