EFFECTS ON ENERGY SAVINGS OF PERSONAL LIGHTING CONTROL SYSTEM IN AN OFFICE BUILDING IN JAPAN - PART 2 EVALUATION OF LIGHTING ENVIRONMENT AND OCCUPANTS' RESPONSE TO PERSONAL LIGHTING CONTROL SYSTEM

摘要

In Part 1, the outline of the measurements and the effects on energy savings of the system were reported. As results, nearly half of the electrical power consumption for luminaires was reduced in average by the system. However, it was mainly due to the turned off luminaires in the area where the occupants were absent from the office, not for the occupants' frequent switching off the luminaires. In part 2, the evaluation on the lighting environment by the occupants and the optimum number of the occupants per one ceiling luminaire was analyzed. The results of the questionnaire survey, identifying the occupants' evaluation of the lighting environment in the office space and their operation of the personal lighting control system are shown. As results, the occupants seldom switched off the ceiling luminaires during the working hours. One of the reasons was that they could not switch off the luminaire because they shared the same luminaire with the others and worried about the influence on the lighting environment of the others.
