摘要

Recently a large number of photovoltaic (PV) generations have been installed in power systems. However, the power output from the PV is random and intermittent in nature. Therefore, the PV generation poses many challenges to power system operation. Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) is considered to cope with them but its high cost is preventing BESS from being installed to the system. However, the present cost argument only considers the initial cost and the economic benefit to the society of BESS installation is not considered. Therefore in this paper, the daily optimal operation of BESS is scheduled by using the Tabu search algorithm, and the reduced amount of fuel and CO2 emission by the BESS installation is considered in economical evaluation by the net present value method. As a result, the proposed method has made it possible to evaluate the optimum amount of installed BESS in the power system.
