L'Ambulatorio IDEA di Genova: un ambulatorio di II livello all'interno del sistema di cure integrato del Distretto di Genova Voltri

Depression is the third reason of medical consultation in the Primary Care. The increase of early recognition's rate as well as the use of more effective strategies to take patient into care are essentials to provide more appropriate treatment in this setting.Several studies showed that the collaborative care between Mental Health Centre (MHC) and Genaral Practitioner (GP) is the most effective model to improve short-term and long-term outcomes.In January 2010, a second level centre dedicated to Mood and Anxiety Disorders, IDEA ONLUS-funded, was integrated in the Genoa Voltri MHC; in this way an intermediate level of care between MHC and GP was implemeted.The aim of this paper is to present the first data of this ongoing integration.
