The area of subsea developments has today a strong emphasis in the oil & gas industry, with subsea boosting being the most mature area relating to subsea processing. However with the development and qualifications done for separation technologies, it is possible today to increase the value of subsea processing solutions including separation. This can reduce the need for hydrate inhibition, reduce power requirements, simplify the topsides design to mention a few examples. For deepwater solutions, there are fewer separation solution alternatives, which will be either compact inline type of equipment or of spherical design.
