A PROACTIVE APPROACH TO THE LIFE EXTENSION OF DEEP WATER PRODUCTION FACILITIES (PPT)

The potential to add production life will greatly improve if the concept of life extension is considered early in the operational phase of the facility. The life extension process depends on building up a reliable picture of the present condition and estimating the remnant life. If the present condition cannot be clearly established, conservative assumptions need to be included. Uncertainty mainly comes from not having reliable historical records on parameters that allow proper calculation of materials and equipment degradation and aging.
