摘要

One of the most important factors for improving visual comfort is to decrease discomfort glare in our visual field. It is not an exception in design of housing. However, a luminance distribution in a house is often very complex. For this reason, we should develop a new estimation method of discomfort glare. Therefore, we have developed a convert system to obtain a glare image using wavelet transform from a luminance image. With use of this system, we can easily obtain equivalent value of UGR index in a complex luminance distribution. If we want to design a comfortable house, we should perform lighting simulation and obtain luminance distribution in a room. We can evaluate the results of simulation by using the glare estimation method proposed here. Now we have a means to reduce discomfort glare even in the design stage.
