An ultra-low threshold power, large dynamic range and high-efficiency dual-band wireless energy harvesting circuit is designed and demonstrated to operate in all released global system for mobile communications (GSM) bands in China (0.87-0.96 GHz and 1.71-1.86 GHz) for passive wireless sensor network node and cellular IoT tag applications. The measured features of the proposed circuit show that the RF-to-DC conversion efficiency is with the range of 20-63.2% for an available input power range of -22 to 1 dBm in GSM900 band, and with the range of 13.8-55.5% for an available input power of -22 to 3dBm in GSM1800 band. In addition, the harvested energy is stored in the super capacitor through the energy management circuit.
