Acme-Hardesty and Polygreen Chemicals will jointly discuss polyurethane formulations composed of palm oil based polyols. Manufacturers and end users of polyurethane foam are increasingly focused on formulations containing higher amounts of bio-based materials in place of petroleum-based alternatives. These bio-based polyols have demonstrated performance advantages over traditional petroleum-based polyether polyols when used in flexible conventional foam. This paper will review the primary benefits of adding palm oil based polyols as a replacement for petroleum based polyether polyols, which include improved load building capability and flame retardant performance.
