摘要

Donatable hydrogen plays a significant role in the thermal upgrading of heavy oils, which has been widely studied. It is suggested that donatable hydrogen could stabilize free radicals generated from thermolysis of heavy oils efficiently, which inhibits the condensation and thus postpones coke formation plus enhancing the maximum conversion of heavy oil during thermal upgrading. Heavy oil is believed to contain high amount of donatable hydrogen. Consequently, precise information on the donatable hydrogen content of heavy oil could be favorable for optimizing the thermal upgrading process of heavy oil.
