We present a novel approach to fabricate 3D scaffold closely mimic the natural ECM, consisting nanofibers topography, unlimited heterogeneity of physical and chemical signatures in 3D, yet required simple setup to fabricate scaffold for essentially any biochemical signatures and polymer system of interest. The required level heterogeneity in a 3D nanofibers scaffold is not possible with the methods currently used to fabricate 3D scaffold (e.g., rapid prototype etc), but is readily met by our fiber-pockets approach described here.
