Reverse-arch base slab, a particular kind of structure, was applied on several medium and large shiplocks during the 70s in the last century. The reverse-arch base slab can strikingly reduce investment outlay, however cracks can appear easily due to slab's bad adaptation to foundation's differential settlement. In order to assess the safety of Taiping Shiplock and provide technical support on reinforcement project, with non-linear finite element theory, recomputation of displacement and stress of Taiping Shiplock's reverse-arch base slabs under different conditions is done, and the cause of crack is analyzed.
