In this work we consider the control of epidemics described by SIR type models to prevent the spread of epidemic diseases using robust feedback control approaches. Certain class of SIR type models with different epidemiological control strategies are framed as feedback control problems that are addressed with three simple robust control techniques: (i) the modeling error compensation approach, (ii) high-order sliding mode control, and (iii) geometric linearizing control. Numerical results on three case studies are very promising and can be interesting for practical epidemiological control.
