The construction and reform of basal automation is very urgent with start of information system in Iron and Steel Works. The key technique is how to configure control net and to setup the mode of information share. The ETHERNET TCP/IP with usual configuration software Based on Web Server works out a solution. RapidRing technology provides high speed redundancy in Ethernet networks. RapidRing is wired in a not only simple ring but also dual RapidRings structure, it allows greater flexibility of wiring and network styles. An example of two layers control network configuration in sintering plant is put forward, by means of the study of basal automation and mode of information share. The control system makes use of programmable Wago I/O system based on ETHERNET TCP/IP to configure control network. The ETHERNET TCP/IP controllers with the open network protocol exchange data through its process image composed of I/O module process image and variable process image in internal storing area. It has implemented open data exchange between master and Programmable Controller. To take temperature control of sintering machine ignition system, proportional cascade control algorithm applied to sintering process control is cited in this paper. In the ignition system example the primary measurement is ignition system temperature, which is used by the master controller. The secondary measurements are the gas and air flow, which are transmitted to the slave controllers. The output signal of the master controller serves as the set point for the slave controller in certain proportion. This control system is reliable by being tested in scene. Process data are openly and transparently transferred to sintering factory information system.
