This article presents the design of drive control system for compact mobile ground station antenna for remote sensing data applications. This ground station antenna has been designed for receiving data from IRS Satellites in X-band (8000 - 8400 MHz).Tracking mode considered is Orbit Prediction Tracking (OPT), the mount of antenna is Elevation over Azimuth having dual drive, dual axes & un- tapered reflector (2.7m), capable of operating with wind velocity of 60KMPH, gives efficiency more than 90%. The design demonstrates the design of mechanical wind loads acting on reflector viz. Wind velocity, wind pressure, force, moments & estimation of optimum mechanical torque required for movement of antenna reflector. With estimated design results finalization of optimum gear box, Servo motor & Servo amplifiers are presented. In this paper the Implementation of antenna closed loop control system, design steps & improving transient step response of system is exhibited.
