From Open-air Buildings Museum to Ecomuseum: On the Progress of Protective Idea and Method of Vernacular Historical Settlement Heritage Sites

摘要

The paper reviewed the change of vernacular historical settlement protection since the last century, revealed a progress beginning from open-air buildings museum, via homeland museum and community museum, and going to ecomuseum. In the progress, the protection idea and method changes from expensive protective projects schemed by social elites to heritage protection managed by inhabitance of heritage areas democratically and combined with community development.
