A primary analysis is made in technology for preventing spontaneous combustion of coal to address the risk of safety in production of coal mine for spontaneous combustion of coal. The fire prevention effect and principle of fire per-venting technology were introduced in this paper, especially three phase foam and foamed gel were introduced in emphasis. Mine Fire is an important factor affecting the coal mine production safety, and about 51.3% of Chinese state-owned key coal mines have the possibility of spontaneous combustion, the fire caused by spontaneous combustion has reached 90% of the total number of fires; lost at least 4.2 billion tons of good-quality coal; resulted in sluggish reserves of more than 200 million tons/year; direct economic losses up to several billion dollars. Therefore, the mine fire prevention materials and technologies for coal mine safety production has a very important significance. Mine spontaneous fires is the focus of the mine fire prevention because the fire source is difficult to find, resulting in difficulty of fire fighting, and long duration of fire. Since the 1960s, experts and scholars at home and abroad have done a large number of studies on this technology to prevent spontaneous combustion of coal, and have achieved certain effects. This article describes the roles and principles of a variety of fire prevention materials, and their advantages and disadvantages in order to provide guidance on the development of the mine fire prevention technology.
