GREEN ENERGY SYSTERMS:THE ROAD TO ENERGY SUSTAINABILITY AND ENERGY SECURITY

摘要

Energy fuels modern civilization, yet it has also induced significant problems both at local and global scale with short and long term adverse impact - energy has becomes something that civilization cannot live without it and has also been on the verge of "cannot live with it". In the race for economical development and faced with the decline in fossil fuel reserves/supply, energy security has topped the national security agenda for countries around the world since the end of cold war. In this talk, the development of civilization and energy use will be reviewed on a historical, statistical and scientific perspective; the adverse impact of energy use will be highlighted, and green energy systems as the only road to energy sustainability and energy security will be described.
