An overview on modern biogas utilizing technology of livestock manure

In China, the scale livestock plants are developing very fast at present. It has resulted serious environmental pollution problems. The aim of this study is to provide technical methods how to treat and manage livestock manure produced in the scale culture plant. Authors collected a large of literature about livestock manure. The status of the livestock culture scale and its pollution in China were summarized at first. Livestock manure is a sort of valuable resource according to its chemical composition. Biogas technology, used to treat livestock manure, can save energy and reduce carbon emission. Biogas is a renewable energy. Biogas residue is a kind of high quality organic fertilizer. So, the popular anaerobic processes about animal manure treating were summarized in the paper. They are anaerobic contact process (ACP), the Up flow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB), and upflow solid reactor (USR). Some engineering cases of these technologies also were provided. In the end, technology and method of preventing livestock manure pollution were forecasted.
