Venezuelan Entrepreneurship Management based in generic competences

This research aimed to design the bases in Venezuelan enterprise management grounded in generic skills, according to current Venezuelan and global environment, focusing on the generic skills model proposed by Boyatzis in 1981. For applying the qualitative approach it was used hermeneutic-dialectic method, phenomenological and life histories to get a systemic view of the reality of the matter under consideration. The data collection was conducted through document analysis, direct observation and open interviews, applied to ten (10) entrepreneurs with expertise in management area, and a (01) expert in entrepreneurship, respectively. It was applied a triangulation process and it was determined that the current profile of Venezuelan entrepreneur skills are seen as results orientation, initiative, perseverance, organizational awareness, analytical thinking, conceptual thinking, flexibility and organizational commitment, and it is very important having a business vision that provides inspiration, passion, consistent industry knowledge and ability to stay in time. Starting a business is not entrepreneurship, but involves all the above. It was established that the entrepreneur in the global age must possess characteristics and competence commensurate with the demands of a context, so that the determination of a profile depends on the time and the factors that enable success: Looking to be a reflection and guidance, to promote and create successful business initiatives.
