"Société du Canal de Provence" has been managing its hydraulic network, thanks to the dynamic regulation for more than thirty years. It conducts a permanent research program in this field to keep its knowledge at the highest level. The study of integration of a multivariable automatic controller, based on optimal control, has been conducted to evaluate the possibility to improve the overall optimisation of the system. The development is made on the "Aix Nord" subsystem of the "Canal de Provence". A nonlinear model is built, calibrated and validated with field measurements.
