Energy performance implies measures from consumers to the energy supply sources

All the efforts made in Romania concerning thermal rehabilitation were concentrated mainly towards the energy consumers. The results obtained are encouraging, plausible and sometimes even spectacular. Though looking at the whole system that these consumers are part of, we see that they are in fact the last link in a system that is made out of interdependent compartments; this if we think about medium and large sized cities. In these areas, the energy supply systems are the centralized ones, which contain thermal plants, primary heat transport networks, substations, secondary networks and, in the end, the consumers. It's without a question that the rehabilitation measures concerning a single compartment (the consumers) are insufficient in order to obtain the real energetic efficiency. The present article underlines the importance of the overall rehabilitation measures, to quantify the share that the rehabilitation measures taken in all the compartments would have in the energy saving. Last but not least, we want, by the means of this article, to identify which are concrete and priority measures in large district heating supply systems.
