In this paper, a novel current control tech-nique is proposed to control both the active and reactivepower of a single phase hybrid PV inverter connected togrid. The hybrid PV inverter not only maintains constantload voltage but also ensures active and reactive powerflow from the grid with low THD even at the presence ofnon-linear load. A p-q theory based approach is used tofind out the 'current reference of the parallel converterto ensure desired operating condition at the grid ter-minal. A novel current controller is also proposed. Theproposed current controller is very simple to implementand gives superior performance over the conventionalcurrent controller such as rotating frame PI controller.The stability of the proposed controller is ensured bydirect Lyapunov method. Detailed simulation as well asexperimental results are presented to show the efficacyof the proposed current control scheme along with theproposed Non-Linear controller.
