Hydropower development brings great economic andsocial benefit, but also affects ecological system of the basin. Inorder to resume the ecological system, it is necessary to establishecological compensation system of hydropower development.The content of compensation system including subjects, objects,standard and ways were studied according to the characteristicsof hydropower development. The conditions to guaranteecompensation system implemented smoothly were proposed.
