Due to long-term exploration with insufficient conservation, the resources and environment in Heilongjiang state farms (HSFs) have been impacted and influenced to some extent. However, the environmental problem of HSFS has received minimum attention, so it is very important to evaluate the environmental production efficiency and the productivity of HSFs. In this article, methods of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) are applied to examine the environmental production of 10 bureaus in HSFS for 5 consecutive years. Consequently, inefficiencies are found in 8 of the total 10 bureaus from static perspective, and the great improvement has taken place in each bureau's overall environmental performance toward a dynamic perspective, especially in its technical change, which can provide helpful information to improve the environmental performance of HSFs.
