This presentation will provide policymakers, developers, and end-users information to understand how geospatial modeling can be employed to develop state Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Development Plans. This presentation will include Geographic Information Systems (GIS) methodology to locate and assess energy infrastructure, identify attributes to determine loads, and to locate desired advanced/renewable energy systems. Public data to estimate loads and resources will be used to determine appropriate end use targets and described through a step-by-step procedure. The presentation will also show examples of published maps designed to identify potential fuel cell stationary targets including combined heat and power (CHP), backup power locations, and transportation targets including hydrogen and alternative refueling stations and vehicle fleets.
