Performances for the treatment of normal molasses wastewater between ABR (Anaerobic Baffled Reactor) and SBAR (Sequencing Batch Airlift Reactor) were discussed in this study. The continuous fermentative ABR contained four tanks of same size with the total effective volume of 34.60 L, and of 5.4 L to SBAR. With the COD of 8000 mg/L, much resource biogas were obtained, the COD removal efficiency was above 85% at the temperature of 357#x00B1;1°C in 37 days. However, it only cost 35 days for aerobic granular sludge to remove the COD up to 92%. Furthermore, aerobic granular sludge can metabolize more than 85% of TN simultaneously during the degradation of COD which the TN removal was only 50% with ABR techniques in contrast. Both of the two reactors exhibit the outstanding advantages to the treatment of high concentration organic wastewater(HCOW), the combined craft may make the trend for the pollution control to face the challenges between the resource crisis and eutrophication.
