As the sea-going vessels and offshore structures are getting larger, the demand of nonlinear analysis on motion responses and wave loads becomes high. Motivated by such recent demand for engineering application, a joint industry project supported by six Korean industries has been carried out to develop a program suite, called WISH, for the prediction of nonlinear motion responses and structural loads. In the present paper, the theoretical background and numerical implementation of WISH are described. This program is based on a higher-order Rankine panel method, adopting a time-domain approach. Different levels of analysis, linear, weakly-nonlinear and weak-scatterer approaches, are applied. The validation works during the development of WISH are presented for nonlinear ship motion responses and wave-loads including S175 and Hanjin containerships. Some applications on the added resistance and multi-body problems are presented, also.
