The paper deals with moderately large deflections of thin plates which structure is periodic in planes parallel to the midplane. Mechanical properties of such plates are periodic, highly oscillating, non-continuous functions, which makes the exact solutions difficult to obtain. A continuous model, based on the tolerance modelling technique, was proposed by Domagalski & Jedrysiak (2012). An application of this model in a special case is shown. The results are compared with those obtained within Finite Element Method.
