SIMULATION OF BOILING - HOW FAR WE HAVE COME!

In this paper it is shown that a complete numerical simulation of the boiling process is possible. Results from recent work in this area covering partial nucleate boiling, fully developed nucleate boiling, and film boiling under pool conditions are described. Extension of this approach to investigate bubble dynamics in forced flow boiling is also described. The magnitude of gravity is considered as an important variable.
