A Panel Data Analysis of the Romanian Labour Market

In this paper we present the results of a panel data analysis of the impact of various macroeconomic variables, such as minimum wage, GDP, emigrants and immigrants upon employment in Romania. Several fixed-effects models were estimated, indicating that the employment in Romanian is mostly characterized by a low impact of minimum wage and migration, but a higher one of GDP and total population growth during 2000-2008.
