As the modem society and the industrial structure diversify and become complex, economic and human damages from fire are significantly increasing. Therefore, efficient and effect research that could reduce these human and economic damages from fire is required urgently.Much endeavor to satisfy this requirement have been done until now, and many test equipments and softwares that could analyze, assess and predict physical characteristics of fire were created as the fruits of the effort. The main example of these many test equipments is the oxygen consumption calorimeter that could measure the heat release rate, the unit of the size and the scale of fire, by measuring the rate of oxygen consumption during combustion. These calorimeters are divided into Benched (Lab') Scale, Medium Scale, and Real Scale Fire Testing Equipment from the Heat Release Quantitative of the combustion.These equipments that could analyze physical characteristics of fire made performance based fire safety design possible.However, these performance based fire safety design(PBFSD) required much time and cost for analysis of tests on combustibles, the unit materials.Therefore, in order to reduce these tremendous cost and time, many fire exclusive number analysis program softwares were developed. One of the major program is FDS(Fire Dynamic Simulator) developed by NIST(National Institute of Standards and Technology) of theUnited States.The aforementionedhardware and software made performance based fire safety design possible, reducing economic and human damage from fire.However, as the industrial structure become more complex, fire resistance and retardant materials with higher performance are being requested. More variety of library is demanded in order to use the fire exclusive number analysis program, and to answer this demand more tests results from variety of actual fire tests are required.However, many tests need to be done in order to input these actual test results in a database, and space and cost for these tests became constraints.Therefore, this study will understand the relationship of the result data from actual tests on combustibles, the testing specimen, by using the cone calorimeter test method, which is a benched scale test, based on the scenario obtained from the FDS and find the actual fire test scenario application method of the benched oxygen consumption calorimeter. And actual test results will be predicted using the benched scale tests to be utilized as a fire exclusive number program library, which will increase the efficiency of time, cost and space and make more effective performance based fire safety design.
