As an important component of certificate image, seal plays an important role in content-based image retrieval of certificate image. Based on analysis certificate image character, this paper proposed a method for extracting seals from certificate image automatically and realized the algorithm. Experimental results showed that the algorithm can process with high detection ratio and improve the results of certificate image retrieve.
