The optimum combination mode of membrane module, inverted A2/O process and biological contact oxidation process was explored. The results showed that pollutants could be eliminated effectively with the new combined membrane bioreactor and the removal rates of COD, TOC, TN, TP and SS were about 90%, 85%, 80%, 90% and 99%, respectively. After four months consecutive operation the membrane flux decreased less than 10% at the 9 L/h initial flow, making sure that the membrane bioreactor could operate effectively and constantly.
