The study analyzed the characteristics of absorption and accumulation for heavy metals in 7 weed species in coal mining area. The results indicated that the coal mining area was mainly contaminated by Cd, Zn and Cr. The values of BCF were different in weed species. Annual fleabane and wild artemisia had a higher accumulation to Cu, Cr, Ni, Pb and Cd, but all was less than 1. Radix ophiopogonis also had stronger transfer ability to those elements. Considering BCF and TF, Clover was as accumulator to Zn and Pb, Radix ophiopogonis as accumulator to Cd.
