According to the outstanding characteristic of difficulty of control under high ground pressure and hard roof in deep mining stope at present, the coal pressure appearance rule of hard roof with high ground pressure in deep mine was analyzed, and mechanical model of hard roof was established. Based on the analysis on mechanical model of hard roof, the control method of hard roof was proposed and forced roof caving mechanical mechanism was mainly analyzed. And then, several ways of forced caving were introduced. At last, by using the forced caving way of loose explostio of nleading deep hole in NO.1409 working face in Wangjiazhai coal mine. It has gained a good effect. The correctness of stress analysis of mechanical model was verified and it provides theoretical basis for correctly controlling the hard roof.
