@@INTRODUCTION Rubber-layered silicate nanocomposites have attracted much attention recently, because of their good mechanical properties. Dispersion of clay into polymeric materials is very difficult due to their hydrophilic nature. Then for dispersion of clay in majority of polymers, the clay must be modified to increase its compatibility with polymers. The clays can be modified with various alkylammonium salts which it expands interlayer distance of the layered silicate and facilitates penetration of polymers into the galleries [1, 2]. Blending of elastomers has been used because of three main reasons.
