Reliability Analysis for a Cold Standby System with GAMMA Units

This paper deals with the empirical Bayesian estimation (EBE) and Bayes confidence intervals of the reliability indexes for cold standby system with Gamma units. Firstly, we derive the EBE and maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) of the reliability indexes of the Gamma units, and next the EBE is compared with MLE by means of Monte-Carlo simulation. The results show that the accuracies of the EBE are better than those of the MLE. The expressions for calculating Bayes confidence intervals of the system reliability and average life are obtained too. Finally, we give an example by using Monte-Carlo simulation, and the accuracy of confidence intervals is discussed.
