Free-space optical communication (FSOC) is used to transmit a modulated beam of light through the atmosphere for broadband applications. In recent years, FSOC has played an increasingly important role in providing broadband wireless communications. Fundamental limitations of FSOC arise from the environment through which light propagates. The light signals transmitted through atmosphere with a high density of aerosol particles. The light signal interaction with aerosol particles causes dispersion of the light signals. This data investigates aerosol size distribution and transmitted light signal dispersion. Correlation between aerosol thickness and wavelength of light signal is investigated. Based on this correlation and aerosol size distribution, one model is proposed to receive the communications signal.
