In consideration of the characteristics of digital modeling and numerical analysis,a concept on integration of digitalization and numerical analysis for underground construction process is presented. By use of 3D dynamical visual simulation technology based on GIS and the basic concept of discrete event system simulation,the underground construction process simulation is initially carried out, and a new and practical modeling method (CDIM Model Conversion Method)was put forward. A real underground project-World Expo 500kV transformer substation pit foundation of Shanghai World Exhibition is taken and a large 3D visual simulation system of pit foundation is developed.
