Electrical contact performance directly dependents on the properties of contact materials.At the initial designing stage for electrical apparatus, there always lack of performance data in the required conditions, so, in order to selected the most suitable contact material in the alternative materials in the required conditions, relays, for example, analyzed the six characteristic parameters of alternative contact materials in comprehensive by the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), constructed goal, criteria, and alternative, calculated the weights of relative importance of each alternative material to the required conditions.Select the most suitable contact material in required conditions finally.This method is simple, flexible, and easy to operate, and provides a useful reference on selection of preferred solutions of contact materials for low voltage electrical products designing.
