An all digital wide dynamic range PSK receiver has been designed and implemented by using field programmable gate array (FPGA) for burst communication applications in an environment with a large frequency offset. The receiver employs the differential detection to increase the receiver's robustness to Doppler shift and the sub-sampling technique with 1-bit A/D converter at the front to enhance dynamic range and reduce the complexity. The receiver has more then 70 dB dynamic range with 10Mbps bit rate in a millimeter wave communication system.
